In response to the comment about preventing social media spam used to increase PageRank... One idea... Google should use the Digg API (and APIs of other social media sites) to interpret the authority of the linking user.
.
PageRank is based on understanding authority, right? Well calculating the linking user's authority on social sharing sites seems like a straightforward extension to calculating the authority of the linking website or webpage to derive PagePage.

What do you think?

Hey dan.

this firefox extension is going to prevent users from useless digging and most importantly.. is also going to save their time.

Dan I have been hearing quite often about spam diggs, delicious to increase the pagerank what do you think could be done to counter that..
