Create your podcast using any phone. Listen to the most recent episode of any podcast through your phone.

So far podcasts have mainly been used to create content in a radio show format. A podcast usually refers to a 20-80 minute episode of audio content. The process of recording a podcast is an actual event itself. Since podcasting requires a certain setup of gear and know-how, most people don’t record podcasts that reflect micro-updates.

What if podcasts could be used similarly to a syndicated voice message sent to people who you have given the appropriate permissions to receive them?

Your friends/contacts could always hear your most recent news, thoughts, stories, etc, just by calling a dedicate phone number that played your most recently recorded message.

Permissions aside, existing web services are already available that provide most of this functionality. Combining the following two services allow you and your circle to publish personal podcast feeds. You can record micro-podcast episodes from any phone, including mobile phones. It’s as easy as recording a voicemail. Then, your buddies can simply call your podcast’s dedicated phone number anytime to hear your most recently podcasted voice message.

PhoneBlogz already supports creating podcasts from voice messages spoken into your landline or mobile phone.

Podlinez can make any podcast available for listening through any telephone. (Personally, I’ve listened to podcasts this way when I’m without my computer, say, riding mass transit for example). The best part of this service is that once you “show” Podlinez where to find a particular podcast feed, you can call the dedicated phone number that Podlinez provides anytime and you will always hear the most current episode of that podcast.

You could use these two services to create a podcast from your mobile phone at anytime from any location, and your friends could dial your personal feed phone number at any time and they would always hear the most current news from you.

If anyone is already doing something similar to this, I’d love to hear about it. Or if you know of other existing services that can be used to create this sort of mobile to mobile podcasts, please share them in the comments.
