Nic at Marketing Neophyte just posted the second episode of Howie Hard Drive. Howie seems to be fairly well-intentioned but unfortunately lands himself in bad situations.

This video is a great example of using buzz marketing for boring products. In fact, I’ve never empathized with a 500gb hard drive on such a deep level. Nic, please let us know how this campaign progresses.

Thanks for the notice, and I will definitely keep you up to date.

I am working on an incredibly low budget, and am often at the mercy of the schedules of helpful friends. Still, the project is a great deal of fun and I have many ideas for its future.

Nic - I like how the hard drive was hanging with the bad kids, and I commend that teacher for her intense dedication to her students’ education.

Honestly, the video was more effective at leading me to consider data safety than any commercial or ad spot I’ve seen for similar products. I look forward to more.
